Nashville, TN (April 28, 2015) - Country newcomer Josh Goodlett's "Why You Gotta Be That Way" video premieres on The Boot today.  The single was released to Country radio earlier this month via CDX (Vol. 614) and Play MPE, and made the Top 20 most downloaded tracks list for two weeks.  Radio add date is set for May 4 and Josh will head out that day on the first of several radio promotion tours.

The engaging video was produced and directed by Bobby E. Boyd (Loretta Lynn, Aaron Tippin) for Boyd Where Prohibited Productions.  Burt Fults (2014 Grammy Awards, Blackhawk) was the cinematographer and lighting was handled by Jeremy Gonzales.  Boyd chose various Tennessee locations for the two-day shoot, including Chase's Dance Hall in Hendersonville, Boyd Where Prohibited Studios in Nashville, plus the Music City Star Train Station and Two Rivers Park, both in Donelson.  Josh makes his acting debut while veterans Houston Wages and Alexandria Squires ably sell their respective lead roles.

"Why You Gotta Be That Way" is Goodlett's first radio release, and tells the story of a heated heart-to-heart between friends.  "Seeing the beauty and the good in what we have right now is what life's all about," Josh notes.  "Sometimes we need to remind those around us of that fact ... and friends don't let friends act like jerks," he adds with a laugh.

She loves you man, that's easy to see

You oughta be there with her instead of sittin' in this bar with me

I wouldn't be your friend, if I didn't call you a fool

You're sittin' here running her down, man that ain't cool

- Bobby E. Boyd, Brad Wolf, Philip Moore

The single, on Good Entertainment LLC, is available for purchase now at iTunes, Amazon and Google Play

ABOUT JOSH GOODLETT

A native of Northern Kentucky and Southern Indiana farm country, Josh grew up with "old timey" traditions - getting up before the crack of dawn for chores and singing in the church choir on Sunday mornings.  It's the idea of this lifestyle's passing that inspires Josh to "keep it Country," and write hard-hitting and insightful songs.  His frequent co-writer is Nashville hit-maker Bobby E. Boyd, who is responsible for chart-topping songs by Alabama, Rascal Flatts and others.  Goodlett played over 100 shows in Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee last year, sharing the stage with acts Kip Moore, Will Hoge, Tyler Farr and Shooter Jennings.  A father of five, he draws inspiration from his faith and the joys and trials of daily life, and credits Gary Allan, Kenny Chesney and Hank Williams, Jr. as his musical influences.  Josh loves to hunt, fish, dance, BBQ and spend family time at the lake.
