Early Critical Acclaim Precedes Today's Arrival Of
SONGS FROM LYON COUNTY

"The album is a captivating treasure, highly recommended."
- James Cox, Midwest Book & Music Review

Nashville, TN (September 7, 2018) - SONGS FROM LYON COUNTY arrives today, preceded by early critical acclaim. The concept album is the brainchild of award-winning singer/songwriter Dennis Duff and is offered by Gracey Holler Music. For the project, Duff assembled gifted vocalists, including Paul Brewster (Ricky Skaggs band), Josh Shilling (Mountain Heart) and IBMA award-winner Bradley Walker, as well as rising star, Holly Pitney (Mo Pitney band). Duff sings lead on four of the album's nine songs. The compelling collection ranges from Bluegrass to Country to Americana and Folk. Radio can download the full album from AirPlay Direct; digital downloads can be purchased from Bandzoogle and CDs can also be ordered HERE. A quick read of the early reviews should compel even the most procrastinating music lover to act:

"It's hard to pick highlights as this should be listened to as a whole, but 'Night Riders,' '37 Flood' and 'Castle On The Cumberland' struck a chord with me. These songs . . . are important today as a reminder of that time that only lives on in music . . . as we go further and further away from our rich past and into the digital world. Call it Americana, call it traditional, call it old-timey, but whatever you do, call it up and know the truth that is Country music." - Jon Wolfe, Country Music Capital News

"You can accept this as killer back porch music or a history lesson that has no dust on it. A well-conceived, well-played set however you slice it, this is great music to kick back with and let the world pass you by for a while. A winner throughout that deserves all the ears it can get." - Chris Spector, Midwest Record Recap

"It's not often that artists are honest enough about where they were raised and the culture - good and bad - of the folks and goings on in those areas. Duff not only does that, but he gets especially honest with 'Hey Mr. TVA.'" - Matt Bjorke, Roughstock

"The album consists of nine songs that are superb from the start to finish. It has such a charm and uniqueness . . . the grounded roots of Kentucky shine through. I've been on a totally enjoyable musical journey - the sound of Bluegrass will forever echo through my veins."
- Connie Breeden, Nuts About Country

ABOUT DENNIS DUFF:
Duff has written hits for headliners in the Gospel, Bluegrass and Country genres, including Bradley Walker, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, Donna Ulisse, Mo Pitney, Lou Reid & Carolina, and more. A winner of the 2009 Chris Austin Songwriting Contest "Country" Song award, he was nominated for IBMA Gospel Song of the Year in 2011 for his composition, "God's Front Porch." In the mid-1800s, his family moved from Tennessee to an area between the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers in Kentucky called 'tween the rivers.' SONGS FROM LYON COUNTY tells the story of that past in the voices of those who lived it; these are not documentaries but are instead more like the diary entries of his ancestors.
